One Thing You Can't Do in Heaven
by Mark Cahill

I do not act like an extrovert. I am not a big talker. My parents say I could ham it up as a little boy, but later on I think I qualified as shy. These are reasons, but not valid excuses, for my limited efforts at personal evangelism, telling unbelievers about my Savior Jesus. That's one thing you can't do in heaven.

I ordered this book on a whim. I wanted to challenge myself, and I did. Mark Cahill shares numerous stories and ideas to help people like me be more open about my faith. He will strike up a conversation with just about anyone and try to steer it in a spiritual direction. He carries gospel literature to hand out at sporting events, malls, bar sections of town, and elsewhere.

The fire that seems to impel Mark has not yet taken hold of me. I'm still reticent. The simmering feelings I've had for years are getting a little stronger perhaps, but I have a long way to go. I believe that we have different spiritual gifts, and I don't have to compare myself with Mark Cahill, just as you don't have to compare yourself with me. However, I don't want to hide behind a facade of logic and terminology. I want to be an ambassador for the Lord.

Pointing people in the right direction, planting seeds, testifying to what God has done -- these are things that I can do. Helping people submit to Jesus as Lord and Christ is a vital first step. Teaching them to observe all that Jesus has commanded comes next, and that goes on and on. This book was a valuable exhortation. (Genesis Publishing Group, 2004)
